Legislative Assistant

Classification: Non-Exempt, Seasonal

Duration: 5 months (January 2026 - May 2026)

Reports to:  Director of Systems Change

Compensation: $25-30/hour

*This is a contract position, and therefore does not include access to employee benefits

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota - 2550 University Avenue West, Suite 200N

Work Environment: Hybrid (flexible schedule)

Foster Advocates seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Legislative Assistant to serve as the support to the Director of Systems Change during the 2026 Minnesota Legislative Session. This temporary role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in legislative advocacy, policy analysis, and strategic communication within the child welfare space.

The Seasonal Legislative Assistant will play a critical support role in advancing Foster Advocates' legislative priorities, ensuring the Director of Systems Change is well-informed of legislative developments, and contributing to a systems-wide change effort grounded in the experiences of the Minnesota Foster Community.
