Dreaming of policy and advocacy career pathways? Join Fosters, allies and Black Graduate Collective leaders this Saturday, April 18th for this hybrid Village Gathering to help find your passion and purpose.
Many Fosters gravitate toward familiar roles like social work due to the supportive adults they've known. This Foster Advocates event builds your universe, exposing diverse policy and advocacy careers through real stories from University of Minnesota Black Graduate Collective leaders: Crystal Lemchi (Neuroscience PhD, medicine/policy bridge), Nurudin Barre (Human Rights MA, public affairs), and Gabrielle Agbnyiga (Development Practice MA, policy practice).

Join Foster Advocates for a powerful conversation and training on the history of child welfare in America.
This Foster Care Awareness Month gathering is an opportunity to better understand the history of child welfare in America while creating intentional space for healing and reflection.
The event will begin with a conversation and training led by Kelis Houston, followed by Q&A and a facilitated grounding and processing space with Dr. Aja King. Because the topic may bring up strong emotions or memories, the event includes a dedicated reflection space for Foster Leaders after Community Allies transition out.

Through our Fostering College Connections (FCC) initiative, campuses across Minnesota are building more coordinated, responsive systems that support students from enrollment through graduation.
